Bella's (Actual) Wedding Dress

Back in April I created my fantasy wedding dress for Bella, the fictional star of the Twilight movie series, to wear in the wedding scene of the fourth movie in the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn (Part One).  I then posted the illustration on this blog along with other prominent designer's illustrations (see the orignal blog here).

For months the wedding dress and its designer had been highly anticipated and shrouded in secrecy, with designer Zac Posen denying rumors that he was the designer prior to the film's release.  Now, newly released images from the box-office hit show Bella's dress, designed by none other than Carolina Hererra, in all its glory.

Stephenie Meyer and Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon selected the final design out of ten sketches that Herrera submitted.  The dress was handmade and custom fit for Kristen Stewart; it took Ms Herrera and four seamstresses six months to complete.  The dress was created using crepe satin and French Chantilly lace, and features 152 buttons down the back of the dress, with 17 additional buttons on each sleeve. The estimated value of the dress is $35,000!

And of course we can't forget the shoes... Bella's Manolo Blahniks were embelished with jewels.
